The writing process enables a deeper exploration of the self by allowing an authentic connection with your thoughts and feelings and supports you to engage in a positive ways with your creativity. Observe your feelings as you follow along with your writing, fully engage with the flow of your thoughts while responding to the writing cues..

To get the most out of this writing process, you are encouraged to commit enough time for a minimum of 1000 words. You are in control. And it is highly recommended that you devote regular space for each consecutive weeks writing prompts.

The writing course is an effective way of making therapy affordable and accessible to you. By engaging in a deeper process of self enquiry. Writing can also give you a taste of the therapeutic benefits of self reflection and regular practice, which is also achieved through face to face counselling.

Additional one-to-one counselling support is available to you and if you like, you can be supported and encouraged to engage with this formal & creative writing process for as long as you feel it is necessary for you.

Be Authentic with yourself

Remember that this writing is for you, unless of course you decide that you want to share it with others. But, most importantly, this is not a course in literary criticism. This is very important!

Therapeutic-Writing is about introspection, self-inquiry, and the gaining of insight.

It’s about telling the truth and going deeply into our own experience. This is not about perfect syntax or grammar or even spelling. So please don’t worry about your writing style.

You are here to embark on an emotional journey, and if great work comes out of that, fantastic!

The quality of your writing is not the goal, and perfection and self-consciousness can only get in the way of you getting the most benefit out of your writing.
